Family Photos 2026

They are only this young today, and there’s so much I wish to capture and trap in a jar. The kisses, body shaking laughter, missing teeth, sticky hands, books and limbs everywhere, and bear hugs before they grow past me. Thank goodness we have Baby Henry to enjoy some of these sweet moments a little longer.

This family photo shows us most accurately 😆:

Hitchhiking

After we skipped family photos that one year, Jer found that he missed it. “I love them [the pictures], I just don’t love doing them.” He resolved to keep any difficult feelings about it to himself haha, and be supportive. I appreciated him helping find locations, proactively look for what to wear, and letting his arms go numb from holding Baby during pictures.

I’m so grateful that the Dunns continue our tradition of family photo swaps. Jer found a beautiful spot in our canyon with a small waterfall, walls of slate, pretty rocks, and lovely natural landscapes.

This was Baby’s first time in dapper accessories—the cutest little brown shoes from his birthday, and a matching hat he got tired of wearing by the end of our session. He was such a good sport while Daddy held him, though he was too shy and tired to give smiles and laughs.

L feels more like herself in her glasses than without. She is confident enough to be herself unapologetically, and exudes a graceful maturity in her young 15 years. This past year she took care of her medically complex baby brother, started over at a new school, and worked hard in several leadership roles. Beautiful girl has my heart.

F is becoming a tween before my eyes. He’s grown about a head taller in a year along with his feet. He has lost so many baby teeth, and his face is now dusted in freckles from all his outdoor adventures. He works hard and plays hard, and uses his creative outlets to unwind by playing music, drawing, and writing.

W my goofball intellectual. That hat is his absolute favorite, and he wears it with pride. The lining has torn from daily wear even to school and at home indoors. He’s looking so grown up with the glasses, too. We love asking him the time or the date because he’s a pro at checking his watch and being so responsible!

The most perfect weather in our canyon with this beautiful family I love.

Thank you to Victoria and the Dunns for these beautiful photos!
