Kids Update April 2019

I haven’t had an update on the kids in a while! They are growing in many ways and it’s nice to remember some of the highlights since they change so quickly…

Baby Boy – Almost 2yrs

​Likes:

• Carrying his stuffed lion with him for bed and naps.
• Bossing you with cute little words: Hi, Bye, Dad, Mom, No, Stop, More
• His toy screwdriver, which he carries everywhere and sleeps with in a death grip.
• Pretending everything is a weapon.
• Anything sweet! This kid is a sugar fiend.
• Snacks! Will forego all meals for pretzels in a cup.
• Being outside. Especially looking at rivers from a bridge. He has tantrums if we go back inside before he’s ready, even if it’s snowing out there.

​Dislikes:

• Bananas and mashed potatoes. I think it’s a texture thing. But he likes apple sauce?
• Wearing hats
• Sharing Mommy
• Being told to get down from something, to stop touching something, or that there are no snacks left

Little Boy – Almost 4yrs

• Rides his bike every day and is getting faster! I see him gliding and balancing with feet up all the time.
• The cutest little voice! Favorite song is Baby Shark. He loves singing, especially the simple songs from a DVD he picked out at the library including Apples and Bananas, Do You Like… Yes I Do, Counting, Do You Know the Muffin Man, etc.
• Discovered if he runs out of his room in the middle of the night we would let him sleep in our bed.
• Loves reading all our books! His favorites right now are Bedtime for Batman, and That’s Not My Puppy.
• Hates short sleeves and shorts; all his limbs have to be covered for some reason, even when it’s 75 degrees out!

Big Girl – 7yrs

• Dislikes mushrooms, bell peppers, and onions- basically, no fajitas for this girl!
• Loves ​reading. Her favorites right now are chapter books like The Magic Treehouse. She seems to really like non-fiction and asked for a history book. The pic above is of her African Elephant Savanna habitat from school that she did lots of research on and created the elephant from clay, colored, and baked in an oven.
• Enjoys playing on her tablet, her “for fun” games range from learning piano pieces to doing makeup on imaginary animals.
• Looks forward to dance class and Activity Days having fun with her friends.
• BFF’s with her brothers. She likes reading to them, playing blocks or magnet tiles with them, playing kitchen in her room with them, watching a movie together, or being outside on all their bikes/scooters.
