Sister Birthday Hangout

Spent the day with my sister to celebrate her 30th birthday. She just wanted to low key hang out and take care of baby together, deep talk, and eat good food. Jer took the day off to help me with the baby and enable me to go out in the morning (thank you honey!!), so I took her to breakfast.

She chose Aroma Cafe, so we ordered their fresh orange juice and toasted to being in the same decade now at ages 30 and 37.5. With the big portions we split an Aroma skillet (potatoes, mushrooms, peppers, onions, bacon, eggs, a biscuit with gravy) and fresh berries crepe with a condensed sauce and whipped cream. Our foodie hearts rejoiced!!

Baby Henry had his first blowout ever at home and so Adelyn got to experience giving this kiddo a swaddle bath with me. Henry sure made our day interesting with wanting to be carried around to look at everything. Adelyn was happy to oblige!

We took Baby for a walk in the stroller, bottle and tube fed him, tried to nap with him, and watched The Librarian together. When the kids came home they played Pokemon together. The day flew by before she had to go, but I’m glad we got to talk in the car about her birthday, being homeschooled in 7th grade, films she did the logistics for, and hypothetical future plans before dropping her off. We find ourselves hugging each other goodbye several times haha.

She’s moving closer to her work in the city and so we’ll have less of these outings soon. I’m trying not to shed big tears, and instead to celebrate my sister’s efforts to provide for her family. I’ve really enjoyed a year of getting to see her in her element, how she shines at uplifting others and expressing herself, how caring and reliable she is, and what simple things make her happy. She deserves all the happiness!!

I love you sis!
