At the Cardiologist

Monday we had a giant change of plans. Our pediatric cardiologist had an opening from a cancellation so we went with about an hour’s notice.

I got everything ready in a half hour, which is a miracle. Henry happened to have just finished a feeding, and I did a 5min shower and 7min pumping session. I was so glad that things came together for us to be able to get there in time.

I’m so thankful that our amazing stroller/car seat combo makes it easy to get around. We parked far from the building and had to go through elevators and waiting rooms. I can’t imagine trying to carry his heavy car seat in my arms by myself for these appointments.

The office was aesthetically beautiful, I felt very comfortable. Baby weighed 10lbs 1oz! His cardiologist is the same one who took care of his heart stuff at the NICU, and the doctor remembered Henry. He performed an echocardiogram in an ultrasound room to get pictures and check things out. Baby did so good with staying calm and still for the doctor.

The cardiologist determined that everything looks good with Baby’s heart! The hole (defect) has become smaller, and blood flow in that valve is normal now. We just need to come back when he’s about 1yr old and double check that the hole is completely gone.

What a relief!
