Heat Wave

We are melting out here! Excessive Heat Warnings have been in place several times over the summer, with record high temperatures. End of Days, my friends. The grass that Jer has babied all summer is starting to burn, we have to be selective about what hours the A/C runs, and we’ve limited our walks and active times to early in the morning before 8am and again at sunset.

To cool off, we visited the pool with the boys while our daughter was away at Girls Camp. They just had swim lessons here and got a one time free pass to practice their new skills! They went round and round in the lazy river, retrieved diving toys in the pool, played at “the fort” with a giant bucket that spilled lots of water once it filled up, and literally played until closing time. F was even tall enough to ride down both of the big water slides—all by himself! He said he screamed on the slide that goes straight down, and that he liked the twisty one that gave you a little break and excitement along the way. We brought a water cooler with watermelon and drinks, and ended the night with dinner at In N’ Out Burger (because nothing sounds better after hours at the pool than no dishes and delicious calories).

It’s supposed to be 97F to 101F degree highs where we’re camping 🥵 As much as Jeremy assures me that we have a “blackout tent”, there will be water activities, and we will be fine, my list of Things I Hate About Summer is growing. . . and this is supposed to be my favorite season! Give. Me. Strength, Lord. Stay safe out there, or better yet stay inside! 😉

Love,
Kat
