Maui Day 1: Arrival

Getting to Maui was an adventure for us! The ideal time for our flights, hotels, and weather was going to be between May and June which happened to be really close to when school ended—actually we ended up leaving the day school got out (note to self never do that again because you will be dead driving through the night and packing for hours after a long day at work), and road tripped to California to leave our kids with my parents. We packed our carry-on only, borrowed a GoPro camera from them, and took an early shuttle to the airport, and then boarded our flight which we weren’t sure Jeremy was going to get on until the night before!

We stopped at the Food Truck rally across the street from Costco, and it did not disappoint! All the trucks were painted with waves or had great themes, and I wanted to try everything!! I was craving shrimp, so I got some delicious shrimp tacos for a really good deal! My honey had some poke in a bowl (ahi tuna) and was hooked. Everything tastes so fresh here…

Our hotel room was so much more than I expected. Sparkly clean with a nice kitchen (minus oven), and our balcony opened onto the pool! We played at the actual beach so often that we never spent any time at the pool. I wish I took a photo of the bathroom, which was my favorite spot since the shower was GIANT and it had a very modern drain. Not having to worry about cleaning, and seriously relaxing was definitely a highlight for me. We needed it for all the plans we made!
