Science Palooza

We joined up for a double Mommy-daughter date to the Science Palooza in Provo, and my kiddo said it was “Blast-tastic!” From interactive activities about space, a mad scientist show, an animal presentation, exhibits using science experiments, robotics demos, and more… this place was kid heaven for all things science! We spent 5 hours here for $5 per kid and free accompanying adults, and we will definitely be coming back if they have it again next year. Check out photos below!

Kids walked around in Periodic Table t-shirts, astronaut uniforms, and solar system dresses! My little girl fit right in wearing her very special “Doctor” lab coat with her name embroidered on it. Here she is with her BFF. They loved their swag bags that included a passport for them to get stamps for everything they participated in, a tiny notebook, and little goodies.

This animal presentation by Scales and Tails was a really fun first stop! We met plenty of scientific wonders like this tegu, one of the only warm-blooded (endothermic) reptiles in the world which is changing everything we think we know about reptiles.

Mad Scientist Show that had the kids giggling, excited, and mind-blown. Here they are wanting to touch some really neat dry ice bubbles
Rocket Launch Activity with individual settings for Mission Control
Glow in the Dark Moon Landing Room where the kids made craters in moon play-dough with glow in the dark meteor rocks
Mission to Mars room learning all about the Red Planet with a game of “Fact or Fiction”
Learning about Food in Space and the science behind Liquid Nitrogen ice cream with a taste test
Checking out demos at the expo, including a rare looping chemical reaction, air pressure in a balloon under glass, playing a game with a math professor, and trying out some coded robots.
