Spring Soccer 2025
We just had our last game of the season and I am so relieved that it’s over! All 3 kids played and had separate soccer practices, at more than 3 different locations so it was just bonkers trying to get everyone where they needed to be on time. Not only was it more hectic, but I had low energy for a majority of the time and Jer was only able to go to like a couple games after being sick for weeks.
Thank goodness my sister came to visit and helped me through some crazy days with dentist appointments and making chicken salad sandwich wraps and being my wing-woman.

These boys are so tough! They got hit with the soccer ball several times, but kept going after it and kept blocking all the shots while being goalie.

F was assigned goalie for a majority of the games. He did not get to run and interact with the ball and teammates as much, which bothered him a lot at first. During most games, only one of the attempted goals made it past him out of like 30! At harder games shots would keep coming and it was impossible for them not to get by him. I’m so proud of him because it’s a lot of pressure when he’s the last (and often only) defense. Almost every game he sat out for a bit from getting injured, and is a magnet for the ball and getting the wind knocked out of him. It’s been tough for him to work so hard yet consistently have his team lose every game, but I try to be positive with him and see how he’s improving.
W had friends on his team from church and school, so that was fun getting to hang out with their families at the games! He was mostly Defense and did a great job in his position. W is so tough and he says that it makes him stronger lol. He didn’t tire as easily this season, would keep going after the ball to follow through. I noticed that after every game, he always had other boys from the rival team come up to him with waves and hugs because they were old teammates from past seasons or friends at school in real life. I don’t think they won a single game, but I hope he had fun!

L and her team worked hard this season. She has been great at throwing the ball in, passing, getting to the ball quickly when she’s defending, and she even scored a goal!!! Her endurance has improved because she doesn’t tire as easily, probably from all that running and PE she’s been doing at school. It also helps that she now has an asthma inhaler for before and after her games! Their team did really well when everyone was able to be there together. One game they were down until L showed up and then it turned around! She is also a tough cookie and we are very proud of her.
We celebrated the end of the season with root beer floats. Jer recovered enough to be able to watch their last games, which meant a lot to both the kids and their Dad who loves to support them in their games. For now I’m ready for a break!!
Love, Kat
