Joy Goals for New Year

My main concern in life right now is surviving the daily things (maybe you can relate?), so I had NO mental space to make resolutions and goals this year.

In a twist of events, I was able to go to our relief society activity. We created a Bingo board of “only things that bring you joy and that you want to make more time for.” Instead of trying to accomplish and quantify and measure my actions—I just went with the simple things that make me happy, and the first things I thought of because those must be what I actually need in my life.

Behold:

These are all doable for me, and right now the one I’m desiring more than ever is SLEEP. 😴

Zion National Park has been on our wish list for years. Running will help me regulate and get my body feeling good again. Spending one on one time with each of my children will be so important for keeping our relationships strong. I’m looking forward to using that hammock in our basement especially as the spring and summer roll around. I left “herb” very generic so that if I don’t get the chance to grow something I can still enjoy buying a plant and using it in my cooking, for example. I recognize that it’s a crazy year and I need to be gentle and flexible with expectations for myself in some of these things.

I like that this Bingo concept is simple and visual so that it can be at the back of my mind propelling me forward, able for me to pull up in my mind or my phone whenever I have an opportunity to be intentional.

I’m already able to cross off some!

Love, Kat
