Relaxing Labor Day: Bike Ride, Peaches, Baby Snuggles

Jeremy’s Mom is in town for a day, so we had some much needed family time on Labor Day. It was time to pick peaches at Riley’s in Genola! The kids did such a good job finding the biggest juiciest fruit. We thought of Baby boy as we passed by some peaches called “O’Henry”. I’m so excited to eat as many peaches as I want. Yes, we totally sang “Millions of peaches, peaches for me. Millions of peaches, peaches for free. Look out!!”

I was so happy to come home from Riley’s with another $5 bouquet of fresh cut flowers in some vibrant colors, including one of my favorite cascading flowers called amaranth- plus a gorgeous dark sunflower.

Jer took the kids on their traditional bike ride on that shaded Spanish Fork trail. He and W rode all the way to the golf course, a total of 14 miles. F and L rode for 9.5 miles and stopped at the outhouse/park. Even after they came home, Jer continued another bike ride or maybe a moped ride—I think it’s his way of relieving stress.

While the kids and Jer were outdoors, I took my MIL to meet baby Henry at the hospital NICU. When I take visitors I notice that it’s always a shock just how small he is right in front of them, even though there are pictures showing how small he is compared to Jer’s hand for example. She stayed by the bedside as I had skin to skin with Henry for an hour, and then we had lunch from the cafeteria outside by the duck waterfall pond. I found that my MIL likes bacon the way I do- ultra crispy!

I’m very thankful we were able to spend time together as a family on this holiday.

Love, Kat
