Fall Tea Party

L and I hosted a family tea party during Fall break, mostly because itโ€™s been too long since our last. L wanted a fanciful occasion to wear her new embroidered floral dress. I wanted some quality time haha.

Making Apple Tarts

She loved that we cooked and baked together, and watched an episode from The Great British Baking Show that was Autumn themed like our tea party.

I wanted the menu to highlight the Fall flavors, and to have a balanced variety of both savory and sweet options.

We made a wild rice and sausage casserole inspired by this recipe, served in mason jars for tea party portions. I fixed turkey cranberry herbed sandwiches simplified from this recipe. We baked apple tarts sprinkled with cinnamon and topped with whipped cream. For dessert we served pumpkin streusel muffins, and chocolate covered biscotti for dunking.

The food was so filling with apple spice tea, lemon ginger tea. W added whipped cream to all of his drinks and food as an experiment. Our tea party took a turn for the bizarre with BTS songs and Michael Jackson playing in the background ๐Ÿ˜†.
