Books for Easter

I let my husband take the lead on holidays like this because he loves passing on traditions that he grew up with and making things fun for the kids. Without him I would totally be that parent that doesn’t buy any candy or bother to dye eggs or fill baskets because it’s altogether secular, commercial, and inconvenient… but my kids are lucky and have a father that sees beyond my pragmatism.

These kiddos are also lucky that there was an Usborne book party going on right before Easter and I finally took the jump to get a special book for each of them! “All Better” was a hit with both boys who liked to put the sticker bandages on the animals and give kisses (too cute). My older boy liked reading “Construction Sites” with Daddy and pulling down all the flaps to find the bunny on each page. L the bookworm asked for a history book, and got one that highlights changes in everything from inventions, hairstyles, and cooking through time in “Now and Then”.

Egg Hunt

Baby Boy wasn’t interested in finding hard boiled dyed eggs when he discovered the plastic ones had candy in them! Big Brother, however, figured he could have the best of both worlds by stuffing his face with candy while collecting eggs.

Easter Fun

The boys were sick with the stomach flu, so L and Daddy went to church alone while I was reminded of the beautiful message of Easter—someday we will all be able to live again because Jesus Christ conquered death. Have a wonderful Easter!

Love, Kat
