December Updates
Life this month has pretty much consisted of:
- Getting over illnesses
- “What’s for dinner?”
- Wrestling practices, meets, tournaments
- Christmas shopping, cards, wrapping, choir
- **Christmas Christmas Christmas**
Here are some other highlights…

Secret Santa
We’ve had some lovely doorbell ditchers bring a new gift every night. The kids have looked forward to opening stickers, chocolates, a 4 piece dart game, and other fun little things. I’m not sure where they come from!

Tooth Fairy Strikes Again
L came home from school on Tuesday Dec 18th brimming with pride and showed me her front tooth in a ziplock bag! Normally she’s been really sensitive and scared about her teeth naturally falling out or having them pulled, so I was quite relieved that it was all over on this one! She wrote a sweet letter to the Tooth Fairy asking about her favorite animal, and was thrilled to wake up with an answer to her letter and an origami version of one of the animals.
Meeting Santa

We had three chances to meet Santa this year. The first time was during our ward’s Christmas party breakfast which L and I performed at. My husband was out of town, so I was actually busy putting the boys into the car while L and her friends visited with him. It meant that my boys didn’t get to meet Santa, and I didn’t get to listen to what she told Santa she wanted for Christmas—but we didn’t have any meltdowns in the long line!

The second time we met Santa, F was all excited to be in line and kept trying to go up to Santa before his turn. When it finally came to his moment, he completely changed his mind! Santa asked him about his hat, and then he covered his face with it and didn’t want to talk with him haha. Oh well!

Then Santa came and visited his preschool class and he did a complete 180, getting on his lap and hugging him. This pic was taken by his teacher, who sent it to me saying how adorable he was. I was surprised at how differently he reacted, and wondered if seeing all his friends in his class do it before him made him more comfortable.
Wig Dance Parties
I babysat some family and in one day we had a tea party, cookie party, dance party, played with wigs, read stories, and basically my kids had a blast!

Dance Class

We tried out a new dance studio a few blocks from our house! I decided to enroll L in a jazz and ballet class, but it’s a secret Christmas present. It also has this wonderful preschool area that the boys did a great job waiting in during her class time.
