Habits, Goals, and Happenings
What’s been going on in my world lately?
Life is full right now. Attending baptisms and baby showers, babysitting, L’s honors orchestra, caring for our sick/anxious dog, submitting taxes, working on budgets for work and home and church, meetings for youth or primary activity days or baptismal previews, setting financial goals with Jer. Relief Society visits, ministering assignment meetings, plans for activities, dates with the kids, phone calls with friends and family, walking the dog in the cold.
Physically I’m working on consistent, strong and steady habits. A combination of yoga/meditation and strength training. I’m hoping that it will build up to when I can run outside again, as right now there’s snow and ice on the ground and it’s not exactly safe to go running where I normally would.
My little sister is moving nearby. I’m so excited for us to be closer, and the chance to start over. Our relationship is complicated. I’m reading “Habits of a Peacemaker” and a book my therapist recommended “Feeling Good Together: The Secret to Making Troubled Relationships Work”. Learning about listening and respectful communication is giving me hope and a desire to do better. I need the meditation and the breathing exercises to be able to handle things.
Our living room is almost unrecognizable and bare bones. The dog kept getting sick on the rug. We rolled it up to prevent further damage, but it feels like that was the last thing the poor rug could handle even after being carefully carpet cleaned only like a couple weeks ago. I ordered a new rug $$$! We have grand plans of getting a sectional for our growing family, buying a frame tv, flanking it with bookcases, and creating a library feel in our living room. It already has that atmosphere. Maybe by the end of the year. For now I’m trying to get our home organized and declutter.
Love, Kat
