Ice Cream Mother-Daughter Date

Happy New Year! It’s been a bit of a crazy time with a new baby at home. We hardly leave the house, so our Mother-Daughter dates were put on hold for a bit for just until we can breathe a little more. L was with me while picking up a Walmart order in the car, and I thought we had just enough time to go down the street and get a FroYo (frozen yogurt) for our “ice cream date” from July. Better late than never, right?

We were able to share a big FroYo since we happened to want all the same flavors and toppings. They had a bunch of seasonal flavors like white chocolate peppermint bark, hazelnut latte, and cookies and cream Oreo, but it turns out L and I are more fruity kind of people. We did a swirl of coconut and pineapple dole whip, and topped it with fresh strawberries, kiwi, and blueberries. I love that she went along with my idea of adding some brownie pieces in it just to put some “umph” into it. She was so excited to put it in a giant waffle cone. The place even took our BOGO coupon since it expired only yesterday.

I came in feeling like I was making up for lost time with my daughter, and we left laughing and refreshed. We had a blast just taking a few minutes to ourselves pretending that it was still December with the Christmas trees behind us. What a nice way to start the new year!
