Mother’s Day + Roxy’s 4

One of my favorite days of the year! I felt so loved with all the acts of service. Our plans to go hiking fell through with the weather. Jer told me I wasn’t allowed to lift a finger, lol. It also happened to be Roxy’s birthday so we spoiled her with a giant pig ear treat, and lots of time doing her favorite things: walks, and cuddles.

Roxy turned 4!

What do you think of my new haircut? Been going shorter and shorter! It’s asymmetrical, but if I tuck the longer side behind my ear it looks kind of even, lol. Two looks in one! Super low maintenance, too.

Mother’s Day Haircut

I felt really put together so I went for a monochromatic look, and though I don’t often wear high heels anymore they felt right. My grandmother left me this lovely gold necklace, and I’ve just now grown into wearing it. Before it felt too fancy and heavy, and now it feels elegant and comfortable.

Jer made special crepes (a tradition from since before we were married) with strawberries and whipped cream for breakfast, and I got to enjoy Relief Society while the Dads taught our primary class in church. He also made a delicious lunch, and my favorite shrimp / fish for dinner—I love that man’s cooking. My sweet kiddos brought me beautiful flowers they grew or planted, lovely works of art they crafted, and tickets to a show they created that made my day! I got to hear L play viola, F sing of his love for me, and W recite a poem (he told me it’s his robot voice singing lol!).

Memory Binders

I’ve been working on a project for the kids- a binder with mementos like their soccer photos, NICU souvenirs, portraits, and awards. Nothing fancy, I’ve saved all the stuff through several moves and have been collecting their photos in piles on my desk so it was also my way of organizing my space. I was going to present it to them on their birthdays this year, but then it seemed like today was a perfect day to go through each of their baby handprints and footprints, ultrasound photos, and baby stories they love to hear so much. I did get very emotional sorting through the items and seeing how much they’ve grown- I’m so proud of these kiddos. Being their Mom has been the best thing I’ve done in my life, and it’s worth it.

Love, Kat
