Medieval Fantasy Halloween
On a quest for glory—and treats!—amongst knights, magical folk, great beasts, and tales of yore on this night when all the Halloween spirits come out to play. . .
Pre-Festivities
Happy Halloween!!! It’s time for pumpkin carving, chili and cornbread for dinner, and trick or treating.

My sister visited yesterday since she wouldn’t be able to join us for Halloween. We had lunch at a new cafe in town, drove through the leaves in the canyon, Jer and I made chicken noodle soup with fresh mashed potatoes, then she played games with the kids and showed us her cute costume. It was brief and we miss her!!
Costumes
This Baby’s Dragon costume kept him warm and comfortable for the short time I took him out for trick or treating. Joining our Baby dragon is W as a medieval Templar knight / crusader, F as a wizard, L dressed as an elf princess, and I as a simple Queen. Jer stayed home to hand out candy and take care of our dog who ate something she shouldn’t have with consequences. Alas and alack…

It’s been so fun to be able to wear these costumes all month for a Renaissance Faire, the Ward party, Halloween orchestra concert, a costume parade at school, a Witches Night Out, and more!
Trick or Treating
Tonight our band of merry medieval mischief makers traveled all across the neighborhood and braved some darkened porches and harrowing scenes for pumpkin pasties and homemade hot chocolate. A line snaked through street for fresh cotton candy. Homes handed out full sized candy bars, plushies, custom 3D printed ghost cat toys, sweets from a Wizard Trolley, glazed donuts or cupcakes, nachos, pudding cups, and buckets of candy. Neighbors gathered around fire pits, or had a giant screen in their garage playing a Halloween movie or the football game.
Jer ran out of candy?! It seems the last few years the number of trick or treaters to our neighborhood keeps growing.
