Poppy Book Store

For MLKJ Day we took my sister to our favorite local book store. Our last visit was so long ago! My New Year’s resolution is a Bingo card of things that bring me joy and that I want to make more time for. This place was one of the first items I added.

Tiny doors into small worlds. “Book boyfriends” bookmarks. Lovely velvet covered editions. Moody alcove of Classics. Customer Recommendations and Staff Favorites on display. They even have iridescent covers with shelf lighting now.

The book section I spent the most time in was the Children’s section, full of joyful colors, gentle and brave stories, and interactive mixed media.

L bought “The Last Dragon on Mars”, a book she thoroughly enjoyed and discovered at our first trip to a Barnes and Noble.

My sister enthusiastically told me it was the cutest bookstore she had ever visited. I think all the tiny details like the mini bookstores and humorous candles brought that little bit of whimsy and fun.

Thank you to Jer for watching the baby and our boys so that L, my sister, and I could have a girls outing that allowed me to laugh deeply and recharge.

Love, Kat
