Be My Valentine
I ordered the kids’ classroom exchange cards online because I haven’t had time to go to a store. Feels kinda apathetic but I’m at a “whatever is convenient- done is better than perfect” stage of life.

They were so excited to put it together when the cards arrived. F had water bottle shaped ones with stickers, and W had cards with foam planes his classmates can construct. No giving out candy this year.

Jack and Lily are each other’s Valentine this year 💗 Jack made Lily’s day dropping off Valentine’s Day gifts for her. We went over a couple of days later with his gifts- a letter with some goodies and stickers, and a couple of fresh specialty donuts.
Fletcher asked a girl to be his Valentine like a month ago, maybe more. I asked him why he liked her and he said he gets a different feeling with her than with anyone else. Girls at school kept asking him to be their Valentine, but he turned them down and said he had a crush, then accidentally shared what her name was 😆 Classic Fletch.
He brought his Valentine some red flowers in a glass Coca-Cola bottle, dressed up in a cowboy outfit, and decorated his valentine box as a wagon for Oregon Trail. It was the most adorable thing, I wish I got a picture of him. He planned the whole thing on his own.
W was so excited to open a box of chocolates from us a couple of days afterwards. I had stashed it away to give the kids the morning of Valentines but didn’t get to do it. Better late than never, right! My kids are my favorite people to surprise. Walker was so sweet wanting to make everyone from Henry to me and our dog Roxy his Valentine.
I did ask Jer to be my Valentine- after all we are Valentines for eternity. We had this discussion at the dinner table in front of the kids, so of course he turned it all lovey dovey and tried to give the kids pointers. He has been swamped with work so he joked that he would “have his girlfriend (me) buy me flowers (also me)”. I made him a special meal, Mexican Picadillo one of his favorites!
Our sweet neighbors brought us boxes full of treats like a box of cookie varieties, and a box of Nutella and peanut butter filled donuts. They had been thinking about us, it was seriously so kind!
