Christmas 2024

Christmas Eve pajamas

Jer and I were both sick around Christmas, but he still cooked a very special Dutch oven dinner with bbq chicken and potatoes we had with salad and fruit punch. That man amazes me with what he accomplishes on a regular basis. The kids drank hot cocoa and we gathered around to watch short videos about Christ’s birth and remember our Savior. We did our late night elfly duties after tucking the kids in bed.

The kids awoke to surprises!

W’s latest Lego obsession was waiting for him from Santa. As soon as W opened his new game “My Little Universe” on the Nintendo Switch, he was figuratively gone. He has been waiting and asking for this game for 2 years now, and I’m surprised he didn’t grow out of it!

F couldn’t wait to play with all his new games. Jer has plans to take him to a game store on Wednesday so they can learn how to paint the pieces for Star Wars Legion. We played Quixx as a family after dinner and he was so excited he tried to set it up multiple times even before we cleared the table.

L looked like a bonafide teenager with her new friendship bracelet making kit from her Uncle Wilee and Aunt Chalia, and her new headphones playing her favorite music she selected on my Spotify account. We’re working on getting her iTunes set up soon.

Jer got some high end cookery for Christmas and everything green. As my father says, “A good cook needs good tools!” Procuring the Staub Dutch oven in that lovely green color in the size he wanted felt like a real life experience of “Jingle All the Way”—checking shady warehouses.

Here I am channeling my inner beatnik with all my winter reading ahead of me.

Christmas Dinner

Jer made such a special Christmas dinner in his new Christmas present Dutch oven pot.

Merry Christmas!
