Reptile Show

We’ve heard about the annual Reptile Show in Salt Lake City for a long time, and at the last minute we decided we needed to go! We came just to look, but Jeremy is so persuasive when he asks for a new reptile. Say hello to our newest family member! It would have been cool to come home with this gorgeous panther chameleon!

Here she is for real! A beautiful Sunglow leopard gecko with gorgeous color and a spiky tail. She is worth hundreds of dollars, but as an old gal now retired from breeding we got her for a steal of $25. She just needed a good home that she could live out the remainder of her life. I saw the emotional, pleading, determined look in Jeremy’s eyes and knew that this was bigger than our house rule of “one pet at a time ever”. It was a family decision to name her Cali.

As we’ve gotten to know Cali more, we love her gentle ways and her chillax attitude. She’s happy no matter what! We ended up separating her and our other leopard gecko Seasol because she got a scratch and a bite at night, and we couldn’t have that with this sweet creature that wouldn’t be able to protect herself.

There was so much to see and pet and hold, and even learn! We had a blast, and definitely recommend the Reptile Show to anyone that loves animals or scaly creatures.
