Spring Break Staycation
We made such great plans for Spring Break, like working on the house and organizing for spring cleaning. When it came time to actually doing it though, we chose to wait on the work and have fun every time. Break was really action-packed! It’s helped us to start some happy traditions like going outside everyday. Check out our adventures below!
Museum of Natural Curiosity
We LOVE this place at Thanksgiving Point for seriously fun and cool kid activities, but haven’t been in almost 2 years because it’s expensive for our whole family to go at normal price—but Jer’s sister invited us to meet with them for a fun-filled morning, and had guest passes for us!

Clockwise from top right: (1) toddler play area feeding balls into the flowers, (2) pressing a button to make the lights turn on and the dryer spin with clothes in it, (3) sitting at a water table with a fountain and various buckets and toys, (4) a plane at the top of the rainforest jungle gym climbing ropes course, (5) blocks used to build a wall that just got knocked over.

The Vet clinic is always one of the favorite stops at the kid city area of the natural curiosity museum, with tons of adorable creatures that can be read into the X-ray machine! My boys were super gentle and loving towards all their furry pals, organizing all their vet tools and listening for heartbeats- this entire activity basically melted my heart.

Since we divided and conquered and I got my youngest, most of the activities I took photos of were geared for his interests. We played in a giant LEGO blocks room, popped bubbles on a giant touch screen, and repaired cars by adding oil, changing tires, and practicing our fine motor skills with a screwdriver.
Captain Marvel Movie Date
I didn’t get a pic of this, but Jer and I finally went on a date!! It was a bit trippy because his niece that we used to babysit as a little child is now old enough to watch our kids! She is seriously amazing—they played Play-Dough, house, and coloring while we watched Captain Marvel in theaters after pizza and play time at the park with the kids.
Ikea Mommy-Daughter Date
We visited Ikea to meet friends while my husband watched the boys. Gotta love those Swedish meatballs, which I haven’t had in years! It made me miss my Dad who makes Swedish meatballs that I sometimes dream about. We discovered an interesting veggie which looked like alien broccoli but actually was a relative of cauliflower! L got to check out the play area with her besties while we shopped for a while. All the one-on-one time with her this week has made me miss her so much when she went back to school.

Playgrounds
The weather was a nice change from the long winter, so we spent every day outside and visited all our favorite local parks! They practiced on their balance bikes, scooters, skateboards, and I jogged with the baby haha. Of course they had a blast with Daddy on the swings, slides, and riding with him on his board.

Train Exhibit at Museum of Art

This was a really cute concept for kids who love trains. Our local art museum just opened an exhibit for the 150th anniversary of the transcontinental railroad! There was a little area to read children’s books about the railroad and all sorts of trains, artwork to check out and do an I Spy game with for older kids, and of course a train table and floor puzzles for the Littles. There was even a ticket booth to pretend play with tickets and accessories.

General Conference
Last but definitely not least, we enjoyed hearing from the prophet and our leaders. Can you spy where our little guy was stubbornly hiding during the life changing talks?
